Ordering, delivery, catering, dietary needs and what to do with leftovers. If your question is not here, call or text (469) 888-8398 during kitchen hours, or send a quote request and ask in the notes.

Ordering & delivery

Are you a restaurant? Can I come in or pick up?

No. We are a delivery-only catering kitchen in Richardson with no dine-in and no walk-in pickup. Small orders are delivered through DoorDash; catering, office and holiday orders are delivered by our own team in a window we agree with you.

Where do you deliver?

Richardson, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Dallas and the northern DFW suburbs. See the delivery area. For somewhere farther, ask; larger orders can travel farther.

How do I order a small amount?

Through our DoorDash store: a plate of three, a half dozen or a dozen, pork or chicken, delivered during kitchen hours. Or use the quick-order builder on the order page and text the order to the kitchen.

How do I order for a group?

Send a quote request (the “Get a quote” button on any page). Three short steps: the occasion, the order, your details. Maggie replies with a menu and a price, usually the same business day.

What are your hours?

The kitchen runs Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM, and is closed Thursday and Sunday. Quote requests can be sent any time; they are answered during kitchen hours.

How much notice does a catering order need?

A regular office lunch usually needs only a few days. Weddings, large parties and anything in the weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas should be reserved as early as possible. There is no hard cutoff; send the request and we tell you what the calendar allows. See lead times by event.

Is there a minimum order for catering?

No fixed minimum. Tell us the headcount and Maggie will tell you what makes sense. Most catering orders run from two dozen to twenty dozen tamales.

How do I pay?

DoorDash orders are paid in the app. For catering orders Maggie confirms payment details with the written quote.

The food

What is on the menu?

Pork tamales in red salsa, chicken tamales in green (tomatillo) salsa, and burritos with the same fillings for lunch orders. Tamales are $15 for three, $30 for a half dozen and $60 for a dozen at menu price. See the menu.

How big are the tamales?

Big. Two are a full lunch for most adults, three a hearty dinner. Reviewers use the words “huge” and “well filled”. For party planning, see how many tamales per person.

Are the tamales gluten-free?

Yes, by recipe: corn masa, no wheat. We are not a certified gluten-free facility, and burritos with flour tortillas are made in the same kitchen, so tell us about celiac guests and we will keep their portions separate. More in are tamales gluten-free?

Are they spicy?

The pork in red salsa has a gentle kick most people call “just right”. The chicken in green salsa is mild and popular with kids. Order a mix for a crowd and put extra salsa on the side.

Do you make vegetarian, sweet or other tamales?

Our menu is pork and chicken. For large orders, ask in the quote form and Maggie will tell you what she can do for your event.

What is in the masa and the fillings?

Fresh corn masa, seasoned and whipped light. Slow-cooked pork in a red chile salsa; chicken breast in a tomatillo salsa verde. 100% natural ingredients, the finest meats and chiles in Texas, no fillers.

Leftovers & storage

How do I reheat tamales?

Steam them in the husk until hot through, about ten minutes from the fridge. In a hurry, wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave. Full methods, including oven and air fryer, are in how to reheat tamales.

Can I freeze them?

Yes. Cool them, keep the husk on, bag tightly and freeze. They reheat well straight from frozen in a steamer. See how to freeze and store tamales.

How long do they keep in the fridge?

A few days, wrapped. Reheat them hot through before serving. For longer, freeze them.

Holidays & events

When should I reserve holiday tamales?

As early as you can. Christmas week is the first to fill every year, then Thanksgiving. Reserve through the quote form with a rough number of dozens; you can adjust it later. See holiday tamales.

Do you set up a buffet at events?

We deliver hot and ready to serve, and can bring salsas, crema, utensils and serving spoons for a self-serve station. Tell us about the venue in the request and we plan the drop-off around your program.

Can you do a recurring office delivery?

Yes, that is Tamale Day: a standing monthly delivery on the day you choose, one invoice, adjusted by text. See corporate catering.
