Tamales catering in Dallas: Uptown offices, Lake Highlands homes

Tamales catering in Dallas means two very different deliveries for me. One goes down Central to a loading dock under an Uptown tower, where a receptionist meets my driver with a badge and a cart. The other goes to a house in Lake Highlands with cars parked on both sides of the street and a grandmother directing traffic from the porch. I love both, and they need different planning.
The short answer: Yes. Maggie’s delivers tamales catering across Dallas from our Richardson kitchen, hot, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM: Uptown and downtown offices, North Dallas and Lake Highlands homes, and the neighborhoods between. Tamales are $60 a dozen ($5 each); plan two per person for lunch and three for dinner. Send the date, headcount and address through the quote form and I price it myself, usually the same business day.
Dallas is the biggest city on my map and the one where the details matter most: which dock, which floor, which side of the street. Below is where the trays go, how the office and home orders differ, the dozens math for the sizes I see most, and how I time a drive down Central so the food arrives hot.
Tamales catering in Dallas: where the trays go
Most of my Dallas orders sit along the line from Richardson down Central Expressway to downtown. On the way there is North Dallas, the office corridor along LBJ Freeway and the Tollway, with Preston Center, Preston Hollow and Northwood Hills on the residential side and the towers near the Galleria on the business side. Then comes Lake Highlands, east of Central along Walnut Hill, Skillman and Abrams, with White Rock Valley and Old Lake Highlands full of the kind of houses that host a party every other weekend.
Keep going and you reach Lakewood, the M Streets, Casa Linda and Forest Hills around White Rock Lake, then the Park Cities, which are their own towns but sit in the middle of my route. Uptown is the office heart: McKinney Avenue, West Village, the Harwood District, Victory Park. Downtown means the Arts District, the buildings around Klyde Warren Park and the Main Street district, with the Design District and Deep Ellum on either side and the Medical District along Harry Hines. Oak Lawn fills in the middle.
Farther south, I go when the route makes sense and confirm it with the quote, so send the address and I will answer honestly. The Dallas catering page has the details for the city.
Uptown and downtown offices: docks, badges and the ride up
A Dallas office delivery lives or dies on the building. Uptown and downtown towers have loading docks with their own hours, security desks that want a vendor name, freight entrances, and garages that charge my driver by the hour if the paperwork is not right. None of that is a problem if I know it in advance, so the quote request for a downtown lunch should include the building name, the dock or entrance for food deliveries, the floor and suite, and the person meeting the driver with a phone that will be answered.
Once we are upstairs, the tamale lunch is the easiest food in the building. Trays arrive hot in an agreed window, labeled pork in red salsa and chicken in green tomatillo salsa; plates, forks, salsas, crema and serving spoons come along on request. Nothing is carved or assembled, and the conference table is cleared in minutes when the meeting starts again. The office catering page explains the packages, and if this is your first time ordering for a meeting, how to order catering for a company meeting is the step-by-step version.
Offices in Uptown and along LBJ are also where Tamale Day, our monthly standing delivery on one invoice, makes the most sense: one email sets it up, and the same lunch appears every month. Burritos, chicken or pork, ride along for the people who eat at their desks.
Lake Highlands, Lakewood and Preston Hollow: house parties
A Dallas house party is where the tamales get talked about. Lake Highlands birthdays, Lakewood graduation parties, a Cowboys watch party in Preston Hollow with the game on two screens, a first birthday on an M Streets porch: the food has to sit on a kitchen island for two hours and still be good at the end. Tamales do that. Open one tray at a time, keep the rest closed and warm, and the last plate is as hot as the first.
Two Dallas-specific notes. Older neighborhoods have narrow streets and no driveways to spare, so tell me where my driver can stop for five minutes; an alley entrance in Lakewood is a gift. And if the party is outdoors, the trays still go inside, because a Dallas afternoon is not a warming cabinet. For the watch-party version, with the numbers for chips, salsa and drinks, game day party food makes the case for tamales over wings. Birthdays, showers, graduations and family gatherings all run through the party catering page.
How many dozens for a Dallas order
Our tamales are big, so ignore the counts written for the small ones. Two per person is a lunch with sides, three is a dinner, one or two is a snack alongside other food. The table shows the Dallas orders I price most often.
| Occasion | Guests | Tamales each | Dozens | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Team lunch, Uptown office | 30 | 2 | 5 dozen (60) | $300 |
| All-hands lunch, downtown | 100 | 2 | 17 dozen (204) | $1,020 |
| Watch party, Lake Highlands | 25 | 2 | 5 dozen (60) | $300 |
| Holiday open house, Preston Hollow | 60 | 1–2 | 8 dozen (96) | $480 |
| Christmas Eve, M Streets family | 16 | 3 | 4 dozen (48) | $240 |
The table prices the tamales only; delivery details and any minimum are confirmed with the quote. Round up rather than down, because Dallas guests bring guests, and leftovers freeze and steam back beautifully. The arithmetic is the same at every size: $5 a tamal, from the 3-for-$15 plate to seventeen dozen.

Holiday tamales in Dallas: Christmas Eve at home, December in the office
December doubles my Dallas route. The offices in Uptown and along LBJ hold their holiday lunches, and the houses in Lake Highlands, Lakewood and Preston Hollow fill up with relatives who expect tamales on Christmas Eve, the way Texas families have for generations. Both come out of the same kitchen on the same mornings, and both need to be booked early, because the weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas fill first.
For a family, the order is dozens: tell me the day, the count and the pork and chicken split, and I put you on the schedule. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Día de los Muertos pre-orders all run through the holiday tamales page. For an office, it is the lunch order with a holiday feel, extra salsa and a plate of burritos for the late arrivals; holiday office party catering in Dallas explains why the calendar fills and how to book before it does.
Getting downtown hot: timing a Dallas delivery
The drive from Richardson to Uptown is straight down Central, and at noon Central is a parking lot from the Bush Turnpike to Woodall Rodgers. LBJ and the Tollway are no better at lunch. I know this, and I plan every Dallas delivery around it, which is why I ask for a window and not a minute. Tell me when people eat, and I plan backward: the driver leaves early, the trays ride closed in insulated carriers, and the food lands shortly before the meeting or the party starts.
Our hours are 9 AM–2 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, so an evening party in Lakewood gets its tamales in the early afternoon and reheats them in a steamer or covered pans when guests arrive; kept in the husk and covered, they lose nothing. For a downtown office, the dock hours matter as much as mine, so check them before you pick a window. My guide to scheduling a catering delivery window explains how to set one that lands on time.
And a reminder for Dallas readers who search for a storefront: we are a catering and delivery kitchen in Richardson, not a restaurant. There is no dine-in and no counter. Small same-day orders go through DoorDash during kitchen hours where its radius reaches, and every catering order comes to you, hot, by our own team.
Ready to order tamales in Dallas?
Give Maggie’s Tamales & Catering the date, the headcount and the Dallas address, and I will answer with a menu and a price, usually the same business day. An Uptown lunch for thirty, an all-hands for a hundred downtown, a watch party in Lake Highlands, Christmas Eve in the M Streets: the Dallas catering page has the city details, and the quote form is where it starts. I read every request myself, dock instructions and all.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver tamales catering in Dallas, TX?
Yes. We deliver hot from our Richardson kitchen on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM to Uptown, downtown, the Arts District, the Design District, Oak Lawn, the Medical District, North Dallas along LBJ and the Tollway, Preston Hollow, Lake Highlands, Lakewood, the M Streets and the neighborhoods around White Rock Lake. Give me the address, the entrance and the time people eat, and I set the delivery window.
Can you deliver to a downtown Dallas office tower?
Yes, and we do it regularly. Put the building name, the dock or entrance the building uses for food deliveries, the dock hours, the floor and suite, and the name and phone number of the person meeting the driver in the quote request. If security needs a vendor name or a certificate, tell me and I handle it before the day. Trays arrive hot and labeled, ready to go from the cart to the conference table.
Do you deliver to Lake Highlands and Lakewood homes?
Yes, often. Both neighborhoods are close to Central and easy for my driver. What helps is a note about where to stop, because the streets are narrow and driveways fill up on party day; an alley entrance or a reserved spot out front makes the handoff quick. Trays go straight to your kitchen island, labeled by filling, with plates, utensils, salsas and crema on request. Gate codes, where they exist, go in the request.
How much is tamales catering for 100 people in Dallas?
For a lunch with sides, plan two big tamales per person: 200 tamales, ordered as 17 dozen for $1,020 (about $10 per person for the main dish). For a dinner where tamales are the meal, plan three per person and the count rises accordingly. Salsas, crema, plates and utensils come along on request; delivery details and any minimum are confirmed with the quote, which I usually send the same business day.
Can you deliver to South Dallas or Oak Cliff?
Our regular Dallas deliveries run from North Dallas down through Uptown and downtown, and I go farther south when the route and the order size make sense. Send the address in the quote request and I will tell you honestly whether we can reach it on your date and in a window that keeps the food hot. It is confirmed with the quote, never guessed, and a weekday lunch is easier to reach than a Saturday evening.
What time can you deliver for an evening party in Dallas?
Our delivery hours end at 2 PM, so an evening party gets its tamales in the early afternoon. Keep them in the husk in a closed tray or the refrigerator, then reheat in a steamer or in covered pans with a little water shortly before guests arrive; they come back hot and moist. I send the method with the order. Many Dallas hosts prefer this anyway, because the food is in the house before the doorbell starts.
