Tamales catering in Frisco: from Hall Park lunches to backyard parties

Tamales catering in Frisco: from Hall Park lunches to backyard parties

Tamales catering in Frisco covers more ground than in any other city I deliver to. Frisco stretches from the office towers at Hall Park and The Star down by the Tollway, up past Eldorado Parkway to the new streets north of Panther Creek, and I have carried hot trays to most of it: lobby desks, team dinners after a tournament, birthday parties on covered patios in Phillips Creek Ranch.

The short answer: Yes. We deliver tamales catering to Frisco, hot, from our Richardson kitchen, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM. Tamales are $60 a dozen, which is $5 each at any count; figure two per person for lunch and three for dinner. Send the date, the headcount and the Frisco address through the quote form and I price it myself, usually the same business day.

Frisco is the youngest city on my route and the one that changes fastest, so I ask for a cross street with every new address. What follows is the rest of what I ask, and what I have learned about feeding a city that seems to add a neighborhood every time I drive up.

Tamales catering in Frisco: from the Tollway to the cul-de-sacs

Start on the Tollway side, because that is where the office orders come from. Hall Park is the big campus with the lawns and the sculptures; The Star is the district that grew up around the Cowboys’ headquarters; Frisco Station sits right next to it; and Frisco Square, by city hall, has the restaurants and the offices above them. Legacy Drive keeps going north out of Plano into all of this, and so does my driver.

South and east, along State Highway 121 and Preston Road, the shopping around Stonebriar gives way to established neighborhoods: Starwood, Newman Village, Plantation Resort, the streets off Lebanon Road. West, along FM 423 and Teel Parkway, it is Phillips Creek Ranch, Frisco Lakes and the newer subdivisions where every third house has a party going on a Saturday. North of Eldorado Parkway you reach Panther Creek and the area growing up around the PGA headquarters, which is where I am most likely to ask for that cross street.

In the middle of all of it is the old part of town: Main Street and the Rail District, with the brick storefronts that host rehearsal dinners and small company parties. If a Frisco address exists, we deliver to it. The Frisco catering page has the details for the city.

Hall Park, The Star and Frisco Station: how office lunches work

An office lunch in Frisco is usually a team lunch, a quarterly meeting or a training day, and the buildings are new enough that the logistics are easy: a visitor desk, a garage, a clear path to the floor. What I need from you is the building name, the floor and suite, the person meeting my driver, and whatever the front desk wants to hear. Put it in the quote request and it goes on the driver’s sheet.

The food arrives hot in an agreed window, timed to land shortly before people eat. Trays are labeled by filling, pork in red salsa and chicken breast in green tomatillo salsa, and salsas, crema, plates, forks and serving spoons come along on request. Nothing needs carving or assembling, which is why tamales suit a conference room: the line moves, and the slides start on time. If you have never ordered for a meeting before, how to order catering for a company meeting walks through the whole thing step by step.

Frisco offices are also good candidates for Tamale Day, our monthly standing delivery on one invoice. Set it once and the same lunch shows up every month without anyone chasing a menu. The office catering page has the packages, and burritos, chicken or pork, are on the lunch menu for the people who eat at their desks.

Tournament weekends and team dinners

Nobody plays more youth sports than Frisco. On a tournament weekend the fields along Lebanon Road and the complexes near the Tollway are full from sunrise, and by Saturday afternoon somebody’s mom is texting the group about dinner. That text often ends up with me. A team dinner is a dozens order: two tamales per player, two for each parent who stays, both fillings so the picky kids have the milder green one.

My advice is to deliver to a house, not to the field. Tamales hold heat in a closed tray for a long time, but a parking lot in August is not where I want them sitting, and a kitchen island with a stack of plates makes the whole evening simpler. Team parents in Starwood and Phillips Creek Ranch do this well: one house, one order, everybody chips in. If you must feed people at the fields, my notes on catering outdoor events in Texas heat explain what survives and what does not.

For booster clubs, band trips and school teams that want to sell dozens as a fundraiser, the bulk tamales page explains how an order by the dozen works and how it is delivered.

How many dozens for a Frisco crowd

Our tamales are big, so the counts below are lower than what a recipe blog will tell you. Two per person is a lunch with rice and beans, three is a dinner, one or two is a snack or a plate alongside other food. Here is how the common Frisco orders work out.

Typical Frisco orders: guests, dozens and cost at $60 per dozen
OccasionGuestsTamales eachDozensCost
Team lunch, Hall Park3025 dozen (60)$300
Tournament dinner, players and parents3025 dozen (60)$300
Backyard birthday, Phillips Creek Ranch45312 dozen (144)$720
Graduation open house90215 dozen (180)$900
Christmas Eve, extended family2035 dozen (60)$300

Round up rather than down; the extra tamales are your plus-ones and your seconds, and leftovers freeze well. The table prices the tamales only. Delivery details and any minimum are confirmed with the quote, and the arithmetic never changes: $5 a tamal whether you order the 3-for-$15 plate or twenty dozen.

Holidays in Frisco: Christmas Eve dozens and office parties

December in Frisco is two things at once. The offices along the Tollway hold their holiday lunches, and the houses in Newman Village and Starwood fill up with relatives who expect tamales on Christmas Eve. Both come out of the same kitchen, and both need to be booked early, because the weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas fill first every single year I have done this.

For a family, the order is dozens: tell me the day, the count and the pork-to-chicken split, and I put you on the schedule. My Christmas Eve ordering guide covers how many to get and how to reheat them so they taste like they came out of the pot. For an office party, it is the office order with a holiday feel: both fillings, extra salsa, and a plate of burritos for the people who arrive late. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and Día de los Muertos pre-orders all run through the holiday tamales page.

One Frisco habit I admire: neighbors pooling a holiday order. A cul-de-sac in Plantation Resort orders together, one address, one delivery, and divides it in a garage with the door open. It keeps the delivery simple and gets everyone their dozens on the same morning.

Getting to Frisco hot: windows, gates and HOA rules

Frisco is the farthest west and one of the farthest north I go, and the route is the Tollway or 121 depending on the hour. That is my problem, not yours; what you control is the window. Tell me when people eat and I plan backwards from it, so the trays arrive shortly before, still closed, still steaming. Our delivery hours are 9 AM–2 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, so an evening party gets its tamales in the early afternoon and reheats them in a steamer or a covered pan when guests arrive. Kept in the husk and covered, they lose nothing.

Frisco neighborhoods love a gate. Put the gate code in the request, along with any HOA rule about vendor vehicles, and tell me if the house number is hard to see from the street; my driver has been to enough new subdivisions to know that the map is sometimes a week behind the houses. For a party at a park pavilion, I need the pavilion number, not just the park.

And a reminder, because Frisco people ask: we are a delivery and catering kitchen in Richardson, not a restaurant. There is no dine-in and no walk-up counter. Small same-day orders go through DoorDash during kitchen hours where its radius reaches; everything bigger comes to you by our own team.

Ready to book tamales catering in Frisco?

Give Maggie’s Tamales & Catering three things, the date, the headcount and the Frisco address, and I will send back a menu and a price, usually the same business day. A team lunch at Hall Park, a tournament dinner in Starwood, forty relatives on a Phillips Creek Ranch patio, Christmas Eve for twenty: the Frisco catering page is where the city details live, and the quote form is where the order starts. I read every request myself.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver tamales catering in Frisco, TX?

Yes. We deliver hot to all of Frisco from our Richardson kitchen, on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM: the offices at Hall Park, The Star, Frisco Station and Frisco Square, the neighborhoods from Starwood to Phillips Creek Ranch to Panther Creek, and the old part of town along Main Street. Give me the address and a cross street and the time people eat, and I set the window.

How much does it cost to cater tamales for a Frisco office of 30?

Plan two big tamales per person for a lunch, so 60 tamales, which is 5 dozen at $60 a dozen, or $300. That is $10 per person for the main dish. Salsas, crema, plates and utensils come along on request, and burritos can be added for people who prefer them. Delivery details and any minimum are confirmed with the quote, which I usually send the same business day.

Can you deliver to Hall Park or The Star?

Yes, and we do. Give me the building, the floor and suite, the name of the person meeting the driver, and whatever the front desk or garage requires, and it goes on the driver’s sheet. The trays arrive hot in an agreed window, labeled by filling, so they go straight from the box to the conference room table. If your building has a preferred dock or entrance for food deliveries, tell me and we use it.

Can you feed a youth sports team after a tournament in Frisco?

Yes, and it is one of my favorite orders. Plan two tamales per player and two per parent who stays, split between pork in red salsa and the milder chicken in green so every kid finds one they like. I recommend delivery to a team parent’s house rather than the field; the tamales stay hotter and the cleanup is easier. Order a day or two ahead if you can, and I will fit it in.

How early should I order Christmas tamales in Frisco?

As early as you know your date. The weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas fill first, and holiday dozens are made fresh on the morning they go out, so each day has a limit. Tell me the delivery day, the number of dozens and how you want them split between pork and chicken, and I put you on the schedule. Ordering late is not impossible, but the closer to Christmas Eve, the fewer open days there are.

Do you have a location in Frisco?

No. Maggie’s is a catering and delivery kitchen in Richardson, and everything we make is delivered by our own team; there is no dine-in and no counter to walk up to, in Frisco or anywhere else. For Frisco that simply means we plan the drive into the window. Small same-day orders can go through DoorDash during kitchen hours where its radius reaches, and every catering order comes to your door hot.
